Has Anybody Tried the Sims 3 Yet?

I am a big fan of the Sims games. They embody my great loves of architecture, interior design, messing with people, styling, and swearing loudly (when it doesn't let you do something.) I have the Sims 2 and most of the expansion packs. But unfortunately I haven't been able to play recently because it was on a computer that has been replaced and we haven't set up the old one anywhere yet. I would like to play the Sims 3 but I don't know. It seems like a lot more responsibility to actually take care of your Sims. With 2 I know all the cheat codes. My Sims almost never work, and since I got Night Life, they stay out all night and never need to eat, sleep, or go to the bathroom. Yes, they eat out with friends, but as an outing not a necessity. And yes they go to the bathroom, but to make out with their latest crush not as a necessity. AND I CAN'T PLAY IT BECAUSE MY FREAKING -------* HASN'T SET UP THE COMPUTER ON THE CARD TABLE LIKE I SUGGESTED AND HE NEEDS HIS SECOND DESK!!!!

*grumbles some more*

*Censored at request of my guardian. Wait a sec, who made up that shit term? It sounds like a freaking angel or a rottweiler. It should be like caretaker or something.

Shoe-ba-boo

I have no idea what that title means besides I'm posting another Shoe. Anyway, what I loved about these Kors Michael Kors Bang platform sandals was that the cork was actually a color. In books like The Clique they always say they're wearing navy cork sandals, and I thought until recently that that meant that the cork itself was navy. That's how I always mean it when I design an ensemble with colored cork sandals. But no. That means the STRAPS are navy. I find it odd. But these sandals had COLORED CORK! So I loved them. They are also well-sculpted and all-around nice looking sandals. Well done, Michael Kors.

Fucking Twilight

FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK. I swear to God. Are there drugs implanted in the pages or some shit??? The books are written horribly with weak, Mary Sue-ish characters and gaping plot holes and yet I still can't get them out of my mind. I have a large picture file featuring pictures from the "saga," a term these books totally do not deserve. I am taking a break from my obsessive reading of them, and yet I MISS THEM! I miss these books that I have trashed on many occasion, ranted about and obsessed about and read about and discussed. I like the first three. The fourth kicked the entire series' ASS! In the bad way. It beat them up. It poisoned them in my brain. The names "Bella" and "Edward" are forever ruined for me because I will have that association and that association only. So just like Bella, I will not be able to read many Jane Austen books because the names are simply "too close"!!! Grrr. Grrr. And further GRRRRRRR!!!

I Can Feel the Pressure . . .

Some things I'll never know, and I had to let them go. I'm sitting all alone feeling empty. I can feel the pressure, it's getting closer now. We're better off without you. I can feel the pressure . . .

Those are some of the bitchin' lyrics to my new favorite song, Pressure by Paramore. It used to be I Caught Myself (as seen on the Twilight Original Soundtrack), but then I heard a string quartet version of Pressure, and I really liked, it so I bought the song and I love it. Do you know they raised the prices on iTunes???? I am very upset about it. I may turn to Limewire like my friend. But not really. I don't wanna go to jail and pay a $250,000 fine. I, unlike other people, read the copyright infringment warnings on DVDs from INTERPOL (whatever that is.)

It's Quotin' Time!

I was reading a chapter in my social studies book, and came upon a quote from Thomas Jefferson in 1820, on the subject of slavery in the Union.

"We have the wolf by the ears, and we can neither hold him, nor safely let him go."

Cool, eh? Did they seriously talk like that, just chatting? Or did they like, think about it beforehand, specifically thinking up fancy, philosophical, lasting lines like that? I suppose that would be something for a historian to study.

The Time is Ripe for Another Twilight Rant

Well, not so much a rant as complaining about something I just thought of. Ahem. . . *shakes out piece of paper* Much as I love Midnight Sun, I must admit this bothered me. When Edward is describing his "reckless angel," (you know, the books really are very religious. I really hate that.) he says her eyes are "sky-colored." WTF? That could mean anything. They could be pale blue, dark blue, black, white, gray, pink, purple, yellow, peach. . . The list goes on and on. Stephenie Meyer may have written a phenomenon (but not as big a phenomenon as Harry Potter!), but she just isn't a very good writer. I finally agree with my sister on that fact. A lot of the crap I write for fun is written wayyyy better. I mean, arms cannot be scintillating. Bella is a moron who is actually selfish and Edward is . . . kind of annoying. And stupid. And really, really hot and smart and charming and romantic. It's kind of hard to say bad things about one of the most idealized guys in literary history.

The French Have So Many More Obscure Holidays Than We Do

Happy May Day, everyone. I have no idea what is celebrated today, all I know is that it is a French holiday celebrated on May 1st. If you are French (as I wish and hope and pray to be), comment and tell me what is being celebrated. If you aren't and know, comment. If you are French but don't know, comment. If you aren't French and don't know, comment.

Bye!
