HOLY FUCKING SHIT

Yes, I know I haven't posted in awhile, I haven't mentioned Fashion Week, like I care. I've beenn busy.

BUT TODAY IS AN EXTREMELY IMPORTANT DAY.

Today is Tuesday, September 29th. DO YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TODAY?

Yes, that's right.

PARAMORE'S THIRD ALBUM CAME OUT, BRAND NEW EYES.

OMG. I AM BEYOND EXCITED!

I'm trying to pace myself, so I only bought one song today, "Playing God". It's beyond awesome. I've played it so much already.

Whatever. I gotta go watch Grey's Anatomy on my TiVo. It's the season premiere!

It's Almost Here!

Yup, that's right. It's that time of year again: Fall Fashion Week. Is it fall? I can never be sure, because they show the spring fashions in fall and the fall fashions in spring. But Fashion Week means a lot of things. Summer laziness is over and it's time to get back to work and school, and it's time to get back to looking CHIC.
Last week on Project Runway they did surfwear, which I am hoping was just a tribute to the end of summer. But a lot of the design teams (Teams! Can you believe it?) did a Tim Gunn: they made it work! But I am with Heidi and I was shocked to find out what happened with Mitchell and Ra'mon. One team member being the winner and the other getting kicked off? Wtf?
But back to Fashion Week. It also means that all the fall styles you salivated over in February when they were on the runway are now available in stores!
So I'm going to include a schedule for New York Fashion Week (Sept. 10-17) with all the notable designers:

Thursday, September 10th

10am: BCBGMAXAZRIA in the Tent

2pm: Mara Hoffman on the Promenade

Friday, September 11th (also the anniversary of 9/11. But I will feature a memorial post on the day of).

6pm: Nicole Miller

Saturday, September 12th

10am: Lacoste in the Tent

4pm: Christian Siriano (Project Runway alum!) on the Promenade

Sunday, September 13th

10am: Lela Rose in the Salon

1pm: DKNY at 711 Greenwich Street

3pm: Herve Leger by Max Azxria on the Promenade

4pm: Diane von Furstenburg in the Tent

Monday, September 14th

10am: Carolina Herrera in the Tent

12pm: Jill Stuart at the New York Public Library

1pm: Tracy Reese in the Salon

Tuesday, September 15th

10am: Badgley Mischka in the Tent

2pm: Max Azria in the Tent

7pm: Tibi on the Promenade

Wednesday, September 16th

9am: Tory Burch in the Salon

10am: Michael Kors in the Tent

11am: Nanette Lepore on the Promenade

2pm: 3.1 Phillip Lim in the Tent

6pm: Anna Sui in the Tent

Thursday, September 17th

9-11am: Ralph Lauren in the Skylight Studio, 275 Hudson Street

Okay, that's it. Of course there are more designers showing that that, but I included the ones that are, in my opinion, of note.
So if you can get to New York City AND you've got enough major clout to have scored an invitation to any of the above shows, go and tell me all about them! (in comments, s'il vous plait.) Everything's in Bryant Park, of course.

It's An Emergency!

I've seen love die way too many times when it deserved to be alive, and I've seen you cry way too many times when you should have been alive. . . .

My new favorite song :] "Emergency" by Paramore.

I know it came out on All We Know is Falling and is therefore really old . . . but whatever!

And I cannot wait for them to go on tour . . . it starts tomorrow!

And I DOUBLY cannot wait for BNE!

P.S. Sorry I haven't posted!

Bird Alert!

The above shown is a lovely Lemon-rumped Tanager, native to South America (Panama, Colombia, Peru, etc.) Isn't it lovely? I love it when they have bright beaks like that, or when they have just a splash of color on a neutral backround, like the Red-winged Black bird :D

Horrible, Awful News

No I'm not dying. No nobody I know died (although did you hear about the helicopter and the plane who collided in NYC? Everyone died!) But I have been scrolling through some forums on Facebook (I have a profile but I haven't been on it in like six months so don't bother) and I found one about the Sims 3. <:[ And guess what? No pianos, hired help, HOT TUBS, you can't make your own custom neighborhood, THE SIMS ARE UGLY, very few hairstyle choices, no stargazing, no a lot of other shit! Fuck it. I'm sticking with TS2 and maybe I'll want TS3 if they come out with EPs! FUCK YOU MAXIS. Altho they really didn't have anything to do with the Sims 3. Maybe that's why it sucks so bad!

Oh My Gol

No, that's not a typo. That's a pithy way of heading a blog entry about a great new site, called Omegle. You go on their and talk to a stranger! Literally. You don't have to give any personal information and you can lie through your teeth. In the past month I have met people from Korea and China and Canada, and a 19-year-old from Massachusetts who has a four-year-old and while I was talking to her, was in labor with her triplets. I didn't believe her. But the Chinese and Korean seemed far more convincing. I discussed food with Korea, and education in Guangxi with China. It's fun!

Jupiter Takes One for the Team

A few days ago, an amateur in Australia witnessed an amazing --- or terrifying --- sight. A comet the size of the Pacific Ocean hit Jupiter, leaving a gap in the gaseous surface. To the side is a size comparison of Jupiter to Earth. There was an article today in the New York Times about it. There will be a link to it at the bottom of the post.

If that sucker had hit us, we'd've been destroyed. So we should all be unerringly grateful to Jupiter for being so huge and having such an enormous gravitational pull. Countless comets and meteors have hit it, very few actually being seen. It is amazing that the most recent was seen. I find it kind of scary that the spot (storm) on Jupiter that has been there for billions of years is twice the size of earth and has been there for the same amount of time. There could be some kind of alien civilization living there obscured by the gas. Not much is known about the surface of Jupiter because it is almost impossible for a rover to walk across the "surface", unlike Mars (yay for Spirit and Opportunity!).

Anyway, we should all, like, send thank-you cards to them if that were possible or probable. Write one anyway. Who knows, maybe they'll be able to tell you did. But I think that if there were any aliens out there, they probably find us quite trivial. They are surviving in very different circumstances from ours, and . . . I don't know. If you ever meet an Extra Terrestrial, make sure there is an available phone. Come on, didn't any of you watch E.T.?
